Incoveniently Mesmerizing; A Must See
The very fact that all the points Mr. Gore makes in this thrilling film, he painstakingly backs up with undeniable and verifiable historical and scientific proof, makes this film worth seeing. I say painstakingly because I can only imagine the opposition he must have encountered while making it.

The film is both haunting and captivating. I’ll bet you’ll catch yourself sitting on the edge of your seat at some point duting the movie, if not during most of it.

Everyone should set aside their biased political views for just a couple of hours and watch this film. Don’t forget the popcorn and soda to make it a night to remember. Yes, Mr. Gore is passionate about his work but, so what, everyone should be.

So, go for it- set politics aside for once and see the film. It’ll probably be the first part of the rest of your life.

Can you spell HYPOCRACY ?
Energy Guzzled by Al Gore’s Home in Past Year Could Power 232 U.S. Homes for a Month

Gore’s personal electricity consumption up 10%, despite “energy-efficient” home renovations

NASHVILLE - In the year since Al Gore took steps to make his home more energy-efficient, the former Vice President’s home energy use surged more than 10%, according to the Tennessee Center for Policy Research.

“A man’s commitment to his beliefs is best measured by what he does behind the closed doors of his own home,” said Drew Johnson, President of the Tennessee Center for Policy Research. “Al Gore is a hypocrite and a fraud when it comes to his commitment to the environment, judging by his home energy consumption.”

In the past year, Gore’s home burned through 213,210 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity, enough to power 232 average American households for a month.

In February 2007, An Inconvenient Truth, a film based on a climate change speech developed by Gore, won an Academy Award for best documentary feature. The next day, the Tennessee Center for Policy Research uncovered that Gore’s Nashville home guzzled 20 times more electricity than the average American household.

After the Tennessee Center for Policy Research exposed Gore’s massive home energy use, the former Vice President scurried to make his home more energy-efficient. Despite adding solar panels, installing a geothermal system, replacing existing light bulbs with more efficient models, and overhauling the home’s windows and ductwork, Gore now consumes more electricity than before the “green” overhaul.

Since taking steps to make his home more environmentally-friendly last June, Gore devours an average of 17,768 kWh per month -1,638 kWh more energy per month than before the renovations - at a cost of $16,533. By comparison, the average American household consumes 11,040 kWh in an entire year, according to the Energy Information Administration.

In the wake of becoming the most well-known global warming alarmist, Gore won an Oscar, a Grammy and the Nobel Peace Prize. In addition, Gore saw his personal wealth increase by an estimated $100 million thanks largely to speaking fees and investments related to global warming hysteria.

“Actions speak louder than words, and Gore’s actions prove that he views climate change not as a serious problem, but as a money-making opportunity,” Johnson said. “Gore is exploiting the public’s concern about the environment to line his pockets and enhance his profile.”

The Tennessee Center for Policy Research, a Nashville-based free market think tank and watchdog organization, obtained information about Gore’s home energy use through a public records request to the Nashville Electric Service.

Far Better Than Expected
I went into watching this film with quite a bit of apprehension. I had unfortunately listened to all the ostriches who have their heads conveniently buried in the sand. Mr. Gore, who I was previously no fan of, presented his theory with conviction and sound science. The delivery is in no way dry or monotone as some of the other lying reviews claim. You can feel the “establishment” ooze off these other reviews. It is easier for them to ignore the problem than face the truth. Anyone who hasn’t personally felt the effects of climate change has not been outside there house over the last 20 years. You owe it to yourself to watch this film and think critically about these issues presented. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Everyone needs to see this movie
Everyone has to watch this. If all of us in the U.S. watched and actually listened to what is conveyed in this amazing documentary, our country would become a much better place. Heck, if Al Gore were president, our country would have been a much better place. Any teachers should make this program mandatory for their students. It is just so amazingly done.

a logical truth
As a high school science teacher, even if I may not believe every single word Gore says, it is not logical (and is reprehensible) to believe that the earth can sustain such atrocities. We must start recycling, investing in renewable resources and doing everything possible to reduce the negative effect we’re having on the environment.

should read “good for one season only”
my kids loved this pool- the first year. tried to set this up the following year only to find hole after hole in the air tubing. after the 5th patch I now cannot find the last of the leaks and believe me i tried. the smallest blade of dried grass or fine pebble can wreak havoc on the thin air tube lining during storage. for sure, this pool is a one time use only toy, don’t think too far in future with this one. by the way, if the ground is not perfectly level, enjoy the deep end!

    Fun Times
The pool is super easy to set up and my kids really like the it. While they may already be 15 and 12 years old, they are excited to cool off in the pool. The younger kids next door have enjoyed it too. Since we live in an area where outdoor pools are only practical for a short time, this is a great alternative and will be easy to store for next year.

My only concern is that if a child is tool small to “step” over the top of the pool, they may fall in.

    Don’t buy expecting long life…
We bought this pool and had a LOT of fun with it the first year. However, our cat, or neighborhood cats would jump up on the side to get a drink from the dew collected on the cover and they put all kinds of small holes in the inflatalble ring. So many that it was unrepairable. So, if you have cats around….beware.

    Beware the hot sun.
I live in Phoenix, which has a habit of getting over 110 on a regluar basis in the summer. After having this pool for a few days, the first thing I noticed was that the water quickly became too hot to swim in (mine got to just over 100 degrees). But the next problem was the dealbreaker. With the sun beating down on the pool, the outside of the PVC lining and the floating ring got extremely hot to the touch. After a few days, the seams began to pull apart on the side of the pool that was facing the sun, as if the adhesive used to bond the seams was failing. Eventually, the pool burst open.

So in theory, this pool is a good value. The filter worked well (you can buy replacement filters at walmart or target), and it was easy to set up. The water depth is usually 6-9 inches less than the stated depth of the pool, and the actual diameter is actually a few feet less than the stated diameter (the pool tapers inward toward the top). Just beware of the sun!

    Beware Intex Pools!!! Low Quality!!!
I first owned a 12×30 Intex Pool that lasted for 4 years without any leaks or any other issues. After the fourth season the pool started to fall apart. I thought that 4 seasons was outstanding for a $100 pool. Based on this, I purchased another Intex Pool. This time I bought the 15×36 pool. I noticed that the quality was not even close to the first Intex pool I owned. Nonetheless the pool worked great for 1 season. However, I just started to set the pool up today after properly drying and storing for the winter. Upon filling the pool up, it was literally falling apart. I lost count at 12 holes. The material of this pool is very low quality and not designed to be folded without cracking. It is only good for one season. STAY AWAY FROM INTEX unless you only plan on only using it for one season. IT WILL NOT SURVIVE WINTER STORAGE. JUNK! JUNK!JUNK!

    One of the Greatest Bio-Pics…
I can’t believe this movie receives so many poor reviews. While it is not Scorsese’s best, it is still very impressive and quite epic. Howard Hughes remains a mysterious character whose biographies are usually based on speculation rather than truth. Scorsese has done an amazing job of showing one adaptation of Hughes’ life from his ambitious beginnings as a filmmaker to his later contributions to the world of aviation. Due to another impressive performance from DiCaprio, Hughes’ obsessive-compulsive disorder is shown as both his biggest fault and at times his biggest asset. But the most impressive acting in the film is Cate Blanchett’s role as Katherine Hepburn, one of the most famous (and yet still mysterious) actresses in movie history. Blanchett is very convincing as Hepburn, almost as if she had found some way to become possessed by Kate Hepburn’s spirit as she frolicked through each of her scenes with biting wit and attractive charm that is shared by both Hepburn and Blanchett, winning her the Oscar she deserved for this role. All together a great film with some stunning visuals, outstanding performances, and a time capsule glimpse into movie history, a film you may want to watch again and again.

    Amazing…..
An incredible film that I have found very re-watchable. A brilliant cast, who I am sure, received brilliant direction from Martin Scorcese. Leonardo Dicaprio did an outstanding job in his portrayal of Howard Hughes. This is a thorougly engrossing film that comes highly recommended…..a SOLID 5 stars.

    Aviator
I bought this DVD for my husbands birthday and he loved it. Recieved on time and brand new

Marty & Leo make Hughes fly!
This is probably a milestone in Leonardo DiCaprio’s acting history!! Outside of this being his second film with Scorsese, the film marks a definite maturity in his acting that I haven’t seen even in their first colloboration, the flawed “Gangs of New York” (though Day-Lewis was superb in it). Especially in HD DVD, the scenes are glitzy and the sound is phenomenal especially in the near fatal plane crash of Hughes which the director filmed to perfection. If you loved the era of the 30’s and 40’s (I’m sure Scorsese does too), you’ll love the details in this off-beat bio. Cate Blanchette is superb also in her Oscar winning role as Katherine Hepburn. So 4 stars for cast & director and 5 for the HD transfer. In total 4 and half stars!! Also take note of how Scorsese changes the color transfer from old 2-strip Technicolor to the more conventional color scheme of today–this is meant to quell people who complain of his use of color in their criticisms of this fine film.

    Inspiration
Howard Hughs is a total inspiration. He had so many blocks in his life, but he did not let them destroy him. He had his dreams and nothing would stop him from achieving them. I watch this movie when I feel that life is blocking me. If Howard could do it, I can, too.

    CYBER CRIME TO THE EXTREME
It seems today that people will watch almost any and everything they can find online. Sites that promise titillation, sites that offer fetishes, sites that offer the most gruesome acts that man can do to man proliferate the internet. UNTRACEABLE takes that idea and runs with it

Diane Lane stars as Jennifer Marsh, an FBI agent in the Portland, OR who specializes in cyber crimes. Whether it’s illegal downloads or identity theft, Marsh and her co-workers filter through the online conundrum to track down the criminals and bring them down.

By way of an anonymous tip, the team is sent to a website called Kill With Me. At first it seems a bit twisted as a kitten is lured to its death, the process sped up as more and more people click on to the site. It takes a more tragic end when a human becomes the next victim.

The first victim is tied up, the web site address carved into his chest and an IV running and anti-coagulant into his bloodstream in higher dosages the more viewers the site gets. Eventually he bleeds to death and the FBI agents take the site more seriously.

The killer behind the site is skilled not only in the machinations of death but in the use of computers as well. He reroutes his web site through numerous servers around the world making the origin of the site untraceable (thus the title).

Each victim seems to be unconnected with the previous one. And with each victim the popularity, the curiosity of viewers grows to the point that hits to the site grow at an astronomical rate. It doesn’t matter to those turning in that they are seeing actual suffering, it’s more about getting a chance to see a real death.

The team follows up any and all leads in their search for the killer. Marsh’s home life suffers as her daughter and mother have to share her with the case. But the killer involves them to after learning that Marsh is the head of the FBI team looking for him, dropping the car and corpse of a victim across the street from her home, a camera attached to the roof and transmitting live online.

Eventually the pieces of the puzzle come together and the link between the victims is found. But not before Marsh is captured by the killer and set up to be his latest “star”. Will she survive or will she be just another object of short span attention online?

The move moves along and a steadily building pace, drawing you into the dark world of the killer. Unlike the SAW films where the killer is a man on a mission (at least in his mind), this killer is truly insane from the events in his life. It is a movie that is involving on so many levels and a white knuckle ride that holds you in its grip until the end.

Diane Lane has grown from a child star of the seventies into one of the most talented actresses of her generation. Never given the respect due, she makes you believe that she IS the character she portrays.

The movie does offer a sad note though. Sad in that it holds so many truths when it comes to the net. People do seek out sites with the most grotesque images possible. Beheadings, suicides, accident victims have all become entertainment for anyone to see there. It’s a sad state when that becomes entertainment. And though it is the same here in a roundabout way, at least this is Hollywood effects as opposed to the real thing. And that makes all the difference.

    Untraceable
A good thriller that is not for the whole family. I like it that there was actually a story to this movie. There was a reason for the killing and it wasn’t just some crazy with a hacksaw buzzing through bodies!! Diane Lane does a good job with her acting. Everyone in Media should be given a copy of this film. There is quite a bit of foul language and some grusome scenes.

great bonus features on blu ray
    Untraceable [Blu-ray]

i really enjoyed the blu ray version the best

the picture in picture feature was the best part of the bd disc

    spoiler alert

    so that made things better

the audio and video commentary at the same time while the movie is playing is awesome

and the graphics in which they are presented are great

    worht the rent

if not purchased at a low price

    Love it
I absolutely love this season, I bought season 1-4 because in my opinion those are the only ones worth having. It is my belief that after season 5 the series went down.

    The Simpsons at their best!
GREAT show! FUNNY FUNNY FUNNY! You like funny adult humor cartoons, then this is for you. The older Simpsons episodes are so much better than the new stuff! This is a must have! This is adult humor but not bad dirty type of humor. OK to watch with the kids (they shouldn’t understand some of the adult stuff).

    Yet another great season
Season 4 in yet another great season of the simpsons it also has 1 of the best halloween episodes in Treehouse Of Horror III there are some greats stories the 1 with the killer krusty doll has to be the best in which homer gets bart a krusty doll from a gypsie and it ends up trying to kill him in another 1 bart revives some zombies and they go on killing spree around springfield in which you see 1 of the best jokes ever where they go up to homer and knock on his head looking for brains but it turns out he has no brain

It’s sweet but you knew that
Yes the fourth installment of the Simpsons dvd box set is indeed just as sweet as both the second and third sets. My only peeve with the set, and it is a small peeve, whenever you select something from the menu you have to watch a small bit of animation before the selection is loaded. Granted the animation is realatively brief and is actually rather amusing the first several times but after awhile it becomes tired. Like I said it is a small price to pay to enjoy the hours of veritable enjoyment that awaits you inside.

    awesome
This is a great box set wth many classic episodes, including “Marge vs. the Monorail” and “Last Exit to Springfield,” two of the best… episodes… ever! Also, very informative commentary tracks by Matt Groening, Al Jean, David Silverman, David Stern and others, but standouts include “A Streetcar Named Marge,” featuring voice actors Jon Lovitz and Hank Azaria providing comments, and “New Kid on the Block,” the commentary of which features episode writer Conan O’Brien.
